Obituary of Joyce A. Munchgesang

Lake George: Joyce A. Munchgesang, 71, of Higgins Road, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at her home, following a brief illness. Born May 4, 1942 in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late James and Wanda (Kokosky) Ryan. Joyce married Hugo J. Munchgesang, Sr. on September 21, 1968. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes with her family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Hugo J. Munchgesang, Sr. of Lake George; a son, Hugo J. Munchgesang, Jr. of Middletown; her daughters, Renee Allspach of Pine Bush, Joyce Munchgesang of Queensbury, and Lori O’Reilly of Lake George; her grandchildren, Amanda, Richard, Brent, Brooke, and Madison; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. At Joyce’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services scheduled. Services will be conducted privately at the convenience of her family. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Joyce’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 50 Mohican St., Lake George, NY 12845.
