Obituary of John E. Austin

North Creek: John “Elwin” Austin, 77, of Igerna Road, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 3, 2015 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 10, 1937 in Igerna, he was the only child born to the late John B. and Iva (Clark) Austin. Elwin was a lifelong resident of the area, and attended Pottersville Central School. He was a self-employed logger, and operated John E. Austin Logging out of Igerna. In addition to his parents, Elwin was predeceased by a step-daughter, Gloria Bacon. He is survived by his children, Deann Pecor and her husband, Wallace, of Chestertown, and Robert Austin and his wife, Debbie, of Bakers Mills; three grandchildren, Wanda Lawrence of Chestertown, Karl Lawrence, Sr. and his wife, Heather, of Warrensburg, and TJ Lawrence and his wife, Jasmine, of Glens Falls; four great-grandchildren, Isabella, Karl Jr., Jasmine, and Nathan Lawrence. He also leaves behind several step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and his beloved cat, Lady Bug. At Elwin’s request there will be no calling hours scheduled.
