Obituary of Sylvia R. Putnam

Diamond Point: Sylvia R. Putnam, 84, formerly of Diamond Point Rd., passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury. Born May 27, 1930 in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Nina (Harvey) Pashley. She graduated from Hudson Falls High School and went to work for the Continental Insurance Co. She married David M. Putnam on May 31, 1958. The couple resided and raised their family at the Putnam family homestead. Sylvia enjoyed working for Bill and Jane Busch at Canoe Island Lodge for many years. She also worked at the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing. Her favorite pastimes included girl scouting with her daughter and also time spent with the 4H program. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, David; her daughter, Karen Putnam and her sister, Nina Jane Pashley. She is survived by her son, Keith D. Putnam of Warrensburg. At Sylvia’s request there are no calling hours or funeral service scheduled. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Moss Street Cemetery, Hudson Falls.
