Warrensburg/Plant City, FL:
Elizabeth Betty Pratt, a resident of Plant City died at home in her daughter's loving care. She is gone to reside with her Lord, husband, parents, brothers, sisters, son in laws and daughter in law.
Betty was born at home in 1933 in Upstate New York, she was a middle child of a large happy family. She grew up and raised her family in the Adirondack Mountains, calling Warrensburg her home from the time she moved there until her death.
A woman of boundless energy and a strong sense of duty, she worked tirelessly at anything she did. She was known for her ease in frequent conversations with everyone including strangers.
Betty worked for Native Textile for 34 years until her retirement. She loved Christmas, baking for her family and friends and the Catholic Church. After retirement, she and her husband George E Pratt Jr wintered in Florida with their daughter. She volunteered at the Catholic Church in Plant City and Thonotosassa for fundraisers, Brothers keepers, as a Eucharistic minister and also at the Everyday Blessings foster home in Thonotosassa.
She is survived by her two sisters, a brother in law, children, grandchildren, their spouses, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and wonderful lifelong friends that brought great joy to her and sometimes great consternation. Mom, Mimi, Aunt, and yes, Uncle Betty you have given us so much. Thank you for always being there for us, teaching us, listening, helping and forgiving and for loving us.
At Betty’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 am, Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. Cecilia's RC Church, 3802 Main St., Warrensburg.
