Obituary of Harry D. Burch

Warrensburg: Harry D. Burch, 63 of Alden Ave., passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, December 27, 2005 at his home following a long illness. Born March 9, 1942 in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Angelina (Paulic) Burch. Following his high school years, Harry enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Germany with the 32nd Armor Division. He spent several years living in Florida and was employed as a Police Officer with the Boynton Beach Police Department. He moved back to the north-country and worked on the paving crew with the Warren Co. DOT for many years. Harry married Peggy Lynn Goodnow on October 10, 1981. He was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting firearm. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club and the NRA. He was known as a man who would do anything for anyone and loved to pick on family and friends. Besides his parents, his daughter, Heidi Burch, brother, Paul and his mother in law, Ida Goodnow have all predeceased him. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Peggy Lynn Burch of Warrensburg; his children, Harry Burch of Maine, Eric Burch of Queensbury and April Burch of Thurman; his sisters, Beverly Bowles of Florida and Candy Shaver of pattersonville; a brother Richard Burch of St. Marys, Idaho; several grandchildren including, Ashley and Alicia Baker and Gerald Remington III. Friends may call on Harry’s family from 1-3 and 6-8 pm Friday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Butler, Pastor of the Kenyontown Methodist Church officiating. Spring burial will take place in the Warrensburg Cemetery.
