Warrensburg: Rev. Ronald B. Burdett, 57, of Devries Road, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital, after being stricken at his home. Born March 5, 1958 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Milton and Juliette (Potter) Burdett. Ron was a graduate of Warrensburg Central School and the Word of Life Bible Institution. He later received his Master’s Degree in Theology from the Master’s International School of Divinity. Ron married Debra Granger on May 22, 1979. He worked various jobs throughout the years; as a Corrections Officer at Great Meadows, and the Head of Transportation for Washington Head Start, but the “job” he loved the most was being a Reverend for the Lord, where he was most recently pastoring at the First Baptist Church of Warrensburg. Besides spending time with his grandchildren, Ron was an avid golfer and enjoyed being a part of bowling leagues at the former Lake George Bowl. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debra Burdett of Warrensburg; two children, Brian Burdett of Warrensburg and Jill (Jason) Seney of Schuylerville; three granddaughters, Kora Smith and Skylar and Kiera Seney; a grandson, Jason Seney, Jr.; two brothers, Don Burdett and Rick (Annette) Burdett, both of Warrensburg; a sister, Joan (Vern) Harris of Athol; mother-in-law, Irene Granger of North Creek; brother-in-law, Frederick (Denise) Granger, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Tammy (Jeb) McKinney, and Darlene (Rick) Bennett. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Ron’s family from 12 to 2 pm, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Warrensburg, 3850 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm at the church. Burial will follow in North Caldwell Cemetery, Lake George. Ron’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Glens Falls Hospital and the Warrensburg Emergency Squad for the compassion shown in his final hours, as well as Doctors Rayeski and Layden, for the years of care provided. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Ronald’s memory to the First Baptist Church of Warrensburg, 3850 Main St., Warrensburg, NY 12885 or Warrensburg EMS, 3 King Street, Warrensburg, NY 12885.
