Obituary of Edna A. Gibbs

Warrensburg:
Edna A. Gibbs, 95, of Hudson Street, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at her home following a brief illness.
Born in Nova Scotia on May 24, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Wentworth and Bella (Crowe) Forbes.
She moved to New York in 1931 where she worked at the Staten Island Edison Electric Company before relocating to Corinth and Warrensburg in 1957.
Edna’s many affiliations include the 4H Club, the Friends Circle, Tri-County Singing group, the Glens Falls Hospital Guild, and various United Methodist Church organizations.
Besides her parents, Edna is predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry F. Gibbs; her sisters: Pearle Dow and Rowena Vincent; her brothers: Claude, Glyn, and Monroe Forbes.
She is survived by her sister, Elsie Franzreb of Staten Island; her brother, Lawrence E. Forbes of Staten Island; and 18 nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Edna’s family from 1 to 3 pm, Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3 pm at the funeral home.
Edna will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Corinth Rural Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edna’s memory may be made to the Warrensburg First United Methodist Church, 3890 Main St., Warrensburg.
