Obituary of Connie M. LaPorte

Warrensburg: Connie M. LaPorte, 52, of Main Street, passed away Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Glens Falls Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer with her loving family at her side. Born January 18, 1955 in Ticonderoga, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Marjorie (Tryon) Hopkins of Westport. Over the years, Connie worked as a custodian at the Warrensburg Central School and at the Warrensburg Laundry. She was known to all as a very happy and high spirited person, who loved everyone. The most important things in her life were her loving husband, John, her cats and spending quality time with her family. Besides her parents, her sister, June Collard has also predeceased her. Survivors besides her husband, John, include her six brothers, Eugene Hopkins and his wife, Rose of Utah, Ernie Hopkins and his wife, Birdie of Chestertown, Gerald “Mickey” Hopkins of Warrensburg, Ronnie Hopkins of Florida, Paul Hopkins and his wife, Mary of Warrensburg, Johnny Hopkins and his wife, Nancy of Willsboro; her two sisters, Barbara Hopkins and her companion, Chris Fawcett of Diamond Point, Linda Borden and her husband, Irving “PeeWee” of Westport; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, who will all miss her very much. Graveside memorial services will take place in the Black River Cemetery, Westport at the convenience of the family. At Connie’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled. Her family extends a heart felt thank you to all the caregivers, aids and other staff members from High Peaks Hospice and Nurses on Tower three of the Glens Falls Hospital for the wonderful care Connie received in her final weeks.
