Obituary of Theodore C. Lemery

WARRENSBURG:  Theodore “Ted” C. Lemery Jr., 84 years old, passed away after a long illness on April 22, 2024 at Glens Falls Hospital. 

Ted was born on February 9, 1940, in Glens Falls, NY, to the late Theodore Lemery Sr. and Helene (Dubee) Lemery. He graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1958 and subsequently enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Airman. During his service, he was sent to Syracuse University, where he studied Russian and became proficient as a Russian interpreter. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Ted joined the ranks of the New York State Troopers, specializing as a member of the scuba diving team within Troop G in Queensbury. Upon retirement from law enforcement, Ted assumed the role of director of security at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing.

During his leisure time, Ted found joy in hunting, fishing, the intricate art of fish carving, and tending to his garden.

Besides his parents, Ted is predeceased by his sister Theresa “Teddy” Ridout.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 39 years, Jeanne (Cameron) Lemery; daughters Tammy Lemery of Florida, Dawne (Shaun) Bednarek of Calcutta, Ohio and Tara (George) Bristol of Queensbury, NY; grandchildren Christlynne (Aaron) Jones, Kailin (Mitchell) Reiner, Piper, Georgia, Lincoln and Elisha; great grandchildren Alden and Everhett; brother Frank (Sally) Lemery and sister Bernadette St. Clair.

Ted’s family would like to send a special thank you to the Glens Falls Hospital 4 west staff and nurse manager Kane Carpentier for their care during Ted’s final days.

Friends are invited to call on Ted’s family from 4pm – 7pm, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. At 7pm, the United States Air Force Honor Guard will conduct a flag presentation ceremony.
