Obituary of Nellie E. Tanguay

Warrensburg: Nellie E. Tanguay, 90, formerly of River St., passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital. She had been a resident at Fort Hudson Health Care Facility in Fort Edward for the last several years. Born April 14, 1921 in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Bessie (Bennett) Hall. She was a lifelong resident of the area and married Edgar J. Tanguay, and considered him her best friend for over 60 years before his passing on November 21, 2005. She worked as a seamstress for the former L & J Clothing Co. in Glens Falls. Nellie was well known for her home cooking. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, reading and watching the humming birds in her yard. Besides her parents and husband, her sister, Mary Eddy and brothers, Simeon Hall Sr. and Garrie Hall, her niece, Joyce Adams, nephews, Simeon Hall Jr., Charles Coonradt Jr., Jacob Sabo Jr. have all predeceased her. She leaves behind her sister in law, Irene Hall of Warrensburg; her niece, who was at her side, Ruth Tooker and her husband, Ernest of Corinth and several additional nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted 11:30 am, Saturday, March 10th at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg with the Rev. Ronald Burdett, Pastor of the Warrensburg First Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call on her family one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Warrensburg Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to a charity of one’s choice in Nellie’s memory.
