BRANT LAKE:  Sandra Ferrara, 79 years old, has gone to be reunited with her beloved husband, Fred Ferrara whom she missed with all her heart.  She passed away due to complications from a stroke on April 13, 2025, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by loved ones.

Born on January 12, 1946, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Peter and Anna (Ragan) Raso, Sandra was one of five children raised in a traditional Italian family.  She learned bookkeeping and billing and worked in the automotive industry on Long Island until her retirement.

Sandra met the love of her life, Fred in 1985, out dancing on a Saturday night.  They were married on December 11, 1994.  Together, they later moved from Long Island to Brant Lake to be close to their grandchildren.

She became an avid knitter and found joy in spending time with a local knitting group, as well as playing mahjong with friends.  Family was everything to her – she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and was always just a phone call away for her nieces and nephews.

Sandra is predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anna Raso, her sister Mary, and her beloved husband, Fred.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ilena Corr and grandchildren Erin and Ronan.  Her brothers Michael, Jeffrey, and Bill Raso and her cousins, along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Details will be shared with family and friends once plans are finalized.
