I attended Horicon Central with Stu from K thru 12. We always looked forward to Stu's return from Florida in the spring. I remember meeting Stu and Cindy with the twins at Frontier Town and being amazed when he told me that I should get married and have kids as it was a great life. I remember seeing him and his mother (who went to school with my mother) at a field hockey game in which his daughter and my daughter were playing. I remember going to a Horicon Central reunion where I saw Stu and his mother who was at that time the oldest living graduate of Horicon Central. I remember seeing him at our class reunion and even after 40 years he still had the spark and energy and sense of fun that was special to him. Alice (Bentley) Dooris

I was also in the class of 1970 & yes, a very small class but that's what made it special, & Stuart often made it extra special. His humor was unrivaled. Last time I saw him was at our class reunion 10 years ago & I distinctly remember him describing where he lived in Florida as a drinking village with a fishing problem. Loved that! So sorry for all who knew him & loved him. We've lost too many too soon already from our class!

I’ve known Stu for over 50 years. When Mead’s Cottages was all rentals Stu would be everywhere making sure each camp was ready for the next family. He and his dad would take us on fishing trips to secret spots. Somehow they always caught more fish than us. Each week, after every kid on the beach got to waterski, the Mead Family would do their own waterski show, with the highlight being Stu on a round disk doing 360’s while standing on a chair. I enjoyed reminiscing with Stu. He had a superb memory and was able to recall old names and stories that others had long forgotten. Regrettably, many of those old tales passed with Stu.
Rest In Peace My Friend,
Dave Bourque

Stu made the mistake of letting his twins bring their friends down to Florida for spring break. I’ll never forget that trip and I’m sure Stu didnt either! Though I haven’t seen Stu in a long time his bright eyes and fun loving energy is how I remember him. Cheers and rest easy.
