Obituary of Thelma Lois Waterston

North Creek: Thelma Lois “Terry” Waterston, 85, of North Creek, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, Monday, May 17, 2021 at Elderwood at North Creek. Born December 3, 1935 in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late John and Thelma (Nicholes) Cugeber. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Ernest James Barry Waterston, a brother John Cugeber and a sister Shirley Ohl. Survived by her children, Bob “Robb” Laber (Joan) of Viera, FL, Christopher Waterston (Robyn) of Schenectady, Jason Waterston (Bernice) of Queensbury, and Pamela Waterston (Beth) of North Chesterfield, VA; grandchildren, Eric, Kristina, Ashley C., Mackenzie, Michael, Ashley Y., and Arielle; great-grandchildren, Stacey, Kaden, TJ, Amelia, Jaxon, Alivia, Owen, and Evelynn. She is also survived by a sister Barbara Cugeber-Merva of Brook Park, OH. Terry was a proud Marine with active duty from 1954-1955. After leaving the military, Terry held several significant positions within the following organizations and businesses including, Department of Social Services for Warren County, Johnsburg Central School, Garnet Hill Lodge and, The Copperfield Inn. Terry was highly involved within the local community and held key leadership roles in the following organizations: Marine Corp League, Korean War Veterans, American Legion Post 629-(Commander/Chaplain). American Legion Auxiliary, Prospect Mountain POW/MIA (Chairperson). Additionally, Terry volunteered many hours with the United Methodist Church playing piano as well as organizing Christmas Teas and the Annual White Water Derby Dinners. The family takes solace in knowing their “Ma” is reunited with Barry, John and Shirley in heaven. They would like to thank all those who have been so gracious, kind, and loving during this difficult time. Interment services with full military honors for both Terry and her husband, Barry will be conducted at 11:30 am, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Gerald B.H.
