Obituary of Roger F. Combs

Warrensburg: Roger F. Combs Sr., 75, of Mill Avenue, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 11, 2021 at Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness. Born May 4, 1945 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Walter and Marjorie (Frye) Combs. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Warrensburg Central School. Roger began his working years at Potters Diner, then to Warren Auto, and from there he began his employment with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department in 1970 where he remained for 23 years, retiring with the rank of Investigator in 1993. Roger was an avid golfer and spent many days with his friends at the 19th hole at Cronin’s. His family is certain that your school taxes will increase due to his inability to play NY Lotto Quick Draw. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers; Earl, Gerald (Jake), Carl, Donald, and Frederick (Timmy) Combs. He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Barbara Combs of Warrensburg; his children, Desiree Wells and her husband, Jack of Queensbury, Roger Combs Jr., and his companion Helena of FL; stepchildren, Donald Crosse of Warrensburg, Judy Robbins and her husband, Jay of Queensbury, and Addey Menegan of Queensbury; grandchildren, Samantha, Jack Jr., Aiden, Shealyn Jade, Nicholas, Trevor, and Demetrios; brother, Gene Combs and his wife, Donna of Warrensburg; nieces and nephews, Susan Aratare, Ricky Combs, Gail Corlew, Edmond Combs, Kim Sopko, Scott Combs, Pam Combs, Craig Combs, Kelly Jarvis, Doni Lyn Smith, and Kylelee Combs; in-laws, Nathan Jarvis, Cindy Jarvis, Judy Gorton and her companion, Kevin, Fred and Marion Jarvis, Clarence and Debbie Jarvis, Grace Potter, John Jarvis, and Evelyn Combs. He is also survived by numerous cousins and many good friends. Friends may call on Roger’s family from 11 am to 1 pm, Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, occupancy inside the funeral home will be limited and masks will be required. A funeral service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery.
