Warrensburg Stephen Parisi, 81, of Elm Street, passed away, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Albany Medical Center, following complications after surgery. Born February 17, 1939 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Stephen and Jennie Marie (Markussen) Parisi. He and his family moved to Warrensburg in 1943 where he attended Warrensburg Central School before relocating back to Brooklyn in 1953. He graduated from Brooklyn Tech in 1957 and from Pratt Institute with a degree of Bachelor of Industrial Design.in 1961. After working in Manhattan, he moved back upstate in 1974 when he opened the Country Road Lodge Bed and Breakfast and operated it for 38 years until his retirement in 2012. In 1988, as a 49 year old bachelor, he married Sandi Jackson and together, they made many lifelong memories and friends at the Lodge. He also worked for the Adirondack Mountain Club and Adirondack Life Magazine. He was an avid hiker and skier and loved living in the Adirondacks. In 2005, Steve became the Director of the Warensburgh Museum of Local History, creating exhibits and spending thousands of hours preserving our town’s history for generations to come for the past 15 years. In 2015, Steve and Sandi sold the lodge and moved into town. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Jeanette Maass, stepfather George Lounsbury, who met Jennie when they were working at Sun Canyon Dude Ranch in Thurman, and his in-laws, Herbert and Margaret Jackson. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sandi Parisi; nephews Peter W. Maass (Lorena); great nephews William, Jonathan, Andrew and Matthew Maass; nephew John S. Maass (Christine), great nieces Olivia and Audrey Maass; niece, Jennifer Klobuchar (Richard); as well as many lifelong and new friends. At Steve’s request there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled. A celebration of his life will be conducted at a time to be announced following the pandemic. Sandi would like to thank all of their family and friends for their continued love and support.
