Our deepest feelings of sympathy. What an extraordinary forester and generous person. Tom and I only had twenty years of knowing both John and his wife, Fran. However, we only knew him to give us delightful greetings and smiles. Always willing to stop when called upon to answer a question, or to schedule a trek through Frogmore woods ,so we could value the trees and natural woodland setting that became our responsibility in 2010. I can also see him climbing a ladder, perched against the Methodist Church in Omstedville, aka The Minerva Historical Museum, so the exterior could be carefully repainted. He was the "energizer bunny" in action!
We are truly blessed to have known him. Rest in peace. And, may you his family rejoice in sharing special memories.

I know my Dad was very proud that John chose to go to Ranger School and work his way into forestry. John left his mark as one of a long line of Finch Pruyn foresters. O
