Bolton Landing: Roderick “Terry” LaGoy, 63, of Trout Lake Rd., passed away suddenly Friday, October 12, 2012 after suffering a heart attack at his home. Born July 14, 1949 in Bolton Landing, he was the son of Phyllis (Putney) LaGoy of Bolton Landing and the late Roderick LaGoy. Terry attended Bolton Central School and was a lifelong resident. Terry enlisted in the United States Army in 1969, serving in Germany and Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge in 1971 he was employed locally by various businesses before being hired by New York State, working several years on Green Island for the Lake George Park Commission; retiring in 2011. He loved fishing, hunting, reading, and photography, spending many peaceful hours in the woods with his camera, waiting for the perfect wildlife photo. Other than his father and grandparents, Terry was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Jerry Bromley. He is survived by his mother; two sisters, Dawn Bromley and Diane Burkhardt, both of Bolton Landing; one nephew, Jeremy Bromley of Long Beach; two nieces, Leah (Vinnie) Acevedo of New Castle, DE; and Lacey Bromley of Buffalo; and a great-niece, Elise Acevedo. At the family’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled. Burial with full military honors will take place at 12 pm, Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville; entombment will be in the columbarium wall. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Terry’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
