Obituary of Mildred I. Bills

Mildred I. Bills, 60, of Grand Avenue, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 10, 1951 in Plattsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Virginia (Tero) Deso..
Mildred married Glenwood B. Bills on April 8, 1970 and enjoyed 27 years together until his passing on October 22, 1997.
She enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found tending to her flower beds and her bird feeders.
Mildred always looked forward to and attending the various county and state fairs with her friends and family.
She was currently employed with the Golden Corral in Queensbury and previously worked at various local businesses in the area including the Treasure Cove Motel.
Mildred was a loving mother and grandmother, affectionately known as “nana.” She enjoyed hosting family cookouts and holiday parties and was well known for her cooking and baking abilities.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband, Glenwood Bills, Sr., and brother in-law, Don Nichols.
She is survived by her children: Bub Bills and his wife, Heather of Warrensburg; Leonard J. Bills and his companion Bridgett Jones of Athol; and Stacy L. Lewis and her husband, Thomas of Lake George; her companion, Joe Santolin of Warrensburg; her grandchildren: Zachary, Byron, Bailey, Ellie, Ivy, Olivia, and Audrey; her siblings: Larry Deso and his companion, Carolyn of Essex; Harold Deso of Lewis; Sue Nichols of Troy; Etta Bruce and her husband, Gordon of North Greenbush; Richard Curran of Warrensburg; Thomas Curran of Queensbury; Patricia Burke of Queensbury; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Mildred’s family from 6 to 9 pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted 11 am, Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Leonard, retired Pastor of the Warrensburg Free Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery.
Millie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Hoy, Eileen Spinelli, Dr. Scialabba, and the wonderful staff on Tower 5 and Tower 3 at the Glens Falls Hospital for the outstanding care that she received during her illness. Her family would also like to thank her many friends and co-workers at the Golden Corral in Queensbury for their generosity over the last two weeks.
