My children grew up with Paulie and we all loved him. As a boy he was smart, inventive, friendly and lovable. He had a magnetic personality. His Mom and I have been friends for over 45 years. It was heartbreaking to hear of Paulie's passing. We will miss him always and we will treasure the visit we had with him when he came to see us in Florida.
Love,

I want to send my deepest sympathies to Paulie's family. I have fond memories of visiting my uncle Frank and Aunt Elsie and the smell of engines in the basement. I never knew which project was Paulies but I was always confused yet impressed with all the projects going on. Anytime I saw him as an adult he was pleasant, funny, and always had a love for what he was doing. A real individual and nice guy. He will be missed by many.

I had't seen Paulie in many years, but still have great memories of simpler and happier days with him and Frankie when we all lived in New York. Reading the guest entries in this book re-affirms my memory of him as a great kid who always knew how to have fun. Ginny and I send our deepest condolences to all who knew and loved him, and whose lives were chnaged for the better by knowing him. And we send them specially to Elsie. "A life well lived." And worthy of praise. I'm sure he rests peacefully now.

Paulie VanBrunt let a little girl hang around when he was working on corvettes, motorcycles, & anything that had a motor & could go fast. He let me hang around & taught me by letting me do, right along side of him. Not many 20something y/o guys would take the time to explain what they were doing to a kid back then but he did & it gave me 10 years of mechanic work & count less cars that were raised from the dead. Bcause thanks to Paulie I have always believed that if I break it I can fix it & if it ran once it can again!! Thanks Paulie for letting me hangout & learn to love vehicles work. Paulie passed away this past weekend & I know he will be missed by his family, friends & one little girl who loves to make things work again. All of my friends who had ever wondered where I got my love for fixing cars/engines, it would be because of Paulie who taught with out boundaries (so long as I could stay up while he worked in the driveway)& let me ride so many of his cool toys. Thanks Paulie for being such a great guy. Your next door neighbor, Laura

I had the privilege of knowing and working with Speedo for over nine years. We rented planes ate out together he was true connoisseur of fine foods with a passion for sushi. Paul was a pleasure to work and play with, a man of remarkable knowledge and integrity. Paul leaves behind two sons who are equally talented and were well cared for. Paul was a great father, Mechanic, Pilot, who not only repaired transmissions but found improved ways to repair them. Many of his rebuilding tips were published by AAMCO. Speedo you will be missed by all who had the honor to know you. Rest in Peace.

My loving thoughts and sympathies are shared with Paul's family. "Paulie" as we called him never ceased to outdo himself. From mini-bikes to street legal vettes to harley's to small aircraft. He was a true "lover of life" and always made me laugh. And all his stories were real. He lived life on his terms, happy with himself. I will miss him dearly.

Speedo was a great guy, I worked a Remington's and when he came in it would just light up the bar. One time he coaxed me into telling a joke to the bar about a one armed fisherman, I didn't know a one armed man had just come in! Luckily everyone laughed about it. He also used to bring the hot dog in, everybody loved that dog too. Speedo was a great guy and I'm sure he will be missed
