Obituary of Edgar A. Hayes

Brant Lake: Edgar A. Hayes, 89, formerly of Route 8, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Countryside Adult Home in Warrensburg. Born July 30, 1923 in the town of Horicon, he was the son of the late Jared and Pearl (Balch) Hayes. Edgar was a lifelong resident of the area and proudly served in the US Army in the European Theater of Operations during WW II and was awarded the Silver Star. Edgar worked for Warren County DPW for 31 years, retiring in 1985. His favorite pastimes included fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Besides his parents, Edgar was predeceased by his brothers, Lorenzo, Lester and Ray Hayes and sister, Lena Mae Randlett. He is survived by his sister, Leta Hayes of Warrensburg; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Edgar’s family from 2-4 pm, Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A service with military honors to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Gerald B.H.
