Bolton Landing:
Iva C. Coon, 83, of Lakeview Terrace, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness.
Born December 25, 1928 in Bolton Landing, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Cordelia (Baker) French.
Iva was a lifelong resident of the area and married Philip A. Coon on December 25, 1948. Phil passed away in 1985 after 37 years of marriage.
Iva’s favorite pastimes include spending time with her family, knitting, reading and archery.
Other than her parents and her beloved husband, Iva is also predeceased by her siblings, Arthur French, Gladys Lane, Doris Morabito, Phyllis French, Wardner French, Charles French and Elsie Marie French.
She is survived by six children, Timothy Coon and his wife, Doris of Bolton Landing, Linda Cook and her husband, Art of Rutland, VT, Wanda Dague and her husband, Al of Bolton Landing, Arthur Coon and his wife, Julie of Queensbury, Mark Coon and his wife, Jackie of Bolton Landing, Matt Coon and his wife, Becky of Bolton Landing; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Iva’s request there were no calling hours or public services scheduled.
Iva was laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Philip, in Bolton Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
