Obituary of Robert V. Mosher

Thurman: Robert V. Mosher, 90, of Bowen Hill Road passed away peacefully, Monday, April 22, 2013 in the very home he’s resided in since he was a child. Born October 28, 1922 in Thurman, he was one of six children of the late Henry and Lucy (Kenyon) Mosher. Robert married Frances B. Burdick on May 2, 1945 in Fort Meyers, FL while he was proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Robert returned to Thurman to run the family farm, which was his pride and joy. He was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation for 22 years until his retirement in the early 80’s. Besides spending time with his family, Robert enjoyed mowing his lawn and tending his flowers. At one time, he had a flower bed containing over 300 gladiolas and even won the Thurman Beautification Award. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Frances Mosher; his granddaughters: Christy and Sarah Rose. Robert is survived by his children, Terry A. Mosher of CA, Robert S. Mosher and his wife, Anne of Thurman, Linda Pinto and her husband, Ronald of Glens Falls, and Betty J. Billow and her husband, Michael of Thurman. He also leaves behind five grandsons, three granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Robert’s family from 5 to 8 pm, Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 10 am, Friday, April 26th at The Free Methodist Church of Warrensburg, 250 River St., Warrensburg, with Rev. Nancy Barrow, officiating. Burial will follow in the Warrensburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Robert’s name to High Peaks Hospice or the Free Methodist Church of Warrensburg.
