Diamond Point:
Mildred E. “Millie” Beswick, 80, of Coolidge Hill Road, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness.
Born December 27, 1931 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late James and Inez VanGuilder. Besides her parents,
Millie is predeceased by her husband, Arnold Beswick who passed away on November 6, 2005.
Millie is survived by a Brother, James VanGuilder of Queensbury, her Daughters: Gail Moon and husband, Bruce of Virginia; Jean DeWitt and husband, Paul of Georgia; and Bonnie Baker of Diamond Point; seven Grandchildren and seven great-Grandchildren.
Millie was a lifelong resident of the Warren County area. After marrying Arnold Beswick in June of 1950, they enjoyed 57 wonderful years together, during which as a family, they enjoyed many vacations to Maine and Florida, but always returned to their house in Bolton.
In addition to working as a housewife, Millie assisted her husband caretaking local properties and later was employed as a waitress at the Howard Johnsons Restaurant in Lake George.
Purchasing a former two room school house on Coolidge Hill Road in Bolton that her husband attended during his youth, Millie and Arnold set about raising their family together and over the years converted the school house into a comfortable 10 room home. Their children will forever carry the memory of the love shared while growing up in the house they built.
At Millie’s request, there are no calling hours or services scheduled and a brief graveside service for the family only will be conducted in the spring at the Gerald B.H. Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery where she will be interred with her husband.
