Obituary of Jackie Ann Valenson

North Creek: Jackie Ann Valenson, 50, a former resident of South Glens Falls, passed away Monday, May 29, 2006 at the Adirondack Tri-County Health Care Center in North Creek following a long disability. Born July 24, 1955 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Arvilla (Moffitt) Hammond. Jackie graduated from the former Washington Academy in Salem. She worked at Mallinckrodt Catheter for 10 years and at Scott Paper for five years, before sustaining disabling injuries in an auto accident on February 2, 1989. She aspired to be a real estate broker and was taking classes in college at the time of the accident. Jackie was a very athletic person who loved any outdoor activity, including cross country skiing, tennis, bowling, swimming and spending time with her beloved family. Her nieces and nephews were very special to her. Besides her parents, her brothers, Allen and Norman Hammond have both predeceased her. Survivors include her two brothers, Kenneth Hammond and his wife, Sharon of North Creek, Gary Hammond of Salem; five sisters, Joyce Harvey of Warrensburg, Doris Swinton and her husband, Richard Green of Rochester, Linda Hammond of Clarmont, FL, Bonnie Whitman of Glens Falls, Judy Walker and her husband, Michael of Lake Luzerne,; aunts, Viola Monroe and her husband, Burton of Warrensburg, Joann Moffitt of Hudson Falls; uncle, Wayne Moffitt of Granville; sister-in-law, Nancy Hammond of Stillwater; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Jackie’s family from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Wednesday at the Alexander Funeral Home, Inc, 4479 State Rt. 28, North River. Funeral services will be conducted 2 pm Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Trudy Pettibone, Pastor of the North Creek Baptist Church and Rev. Roger Richards, Pastor of the Warrensburg First Baptist Church co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Federal Flats Cemetery, Olmstedville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to North Creek Baptist Church, Warrensburg First Baptist Church, to the Adirondack Tri-County Health Care Center or to Susan G.
