Chestertown:
Kathleen J. Rohm, 69, of Valentine Pond Road, passed away, Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer with her loving family by her side.
Born April 5, 1943 in Woodbury, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Bjorn and Eva Ostenson.
She met Donald J. Rohm in 1969 and the couple eventually wed on June 11, 1976 in Woodbury, NJ.
The family moved to the Adirondacks in 1986 and purchased the Abba Dabba Dew Campground.
She always had the ability to make people smile. Kathy and her family could often be found at birthday parties and winter carnivals dressed as a clown; they would perform the “magic acts” to brighten the children’s days.
Kathy worked for the Warrensburg Central School as a secretary for nearly 25 years until her retirement in 2001.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 34 years, Donald Rohm who passed away in 2010.
Kathy leaves behind her children: William Rohm and his wife, Valerie of Chestertown; Michael Rohm of Chestertown; Karl Rohm and his companion, Lisa Carriveau of Paulsboro, NJ; Donald Rohm of Newark, DE; David Rohm and his wife, Maureen of Laurel, MD; Marie Smith and her husband, J.R. of North Delaware; Jennifer Molnar and her husband, Chris of Chestertown; and Brian Tate of NJ; her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Danielle, Valerie, LeeAnn, Michael, Nicholas, Cody, Danielle, Bobby, J, Cody, Kade, and Jordan; and her great-grandchildren: Alexandria, Will, Isabella, Kayla, Abbie, and Shane; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Kathy’s family from 3 to 5 pm, Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 5 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Herrmann, former Pastor of the Thurman Baptist Church, officiating.
