Obituary of Thomas E. Havens

Warrensburg:
Thomas E. Havens, 75, of Hickory Hill Road, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, January 22, 2012 at his home.
Born December 29, 1936 in Fort Edward, he was the son of the late George and Irene (LeVesque) Havens.
Tom was a 1955 graduate of the Ticonderoga High School, where he excelled in mathematics, achieving a perfect score on his eighth grade math regents exam.
He was a very loving and compassionate soul, residing with and caring for his parents until his father’s passing in 1979, when he relocated to Warrensburg with his mother, devoting his attention to her needs until she passed away in 2002 at the age of 96.
For many years, Tom was seasonally employed at Scotty’s Motel in Lake George.
He was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church and he was involved in many church functions.
Tom was a voracious reader and a very talented musician, playing the organ for over 40 years.
He is survived by his two brothers: George Havens, Jr., of MA; Lawrence Havens, currently of Saranac Lake; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tom’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sister Linda Hogan, Fr. Paul Cox, Steve and Sandi Parisi, and Ed and Marie Brown, his exceptional friends and neighbors for several decades whom he considered family.
At Thomas’ request, there are no calling hours scheduled.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be conducted in St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Glens Falls at a time to be announced in the spring.
