Obituary of Sharron L. Meade

Sharron L. Meade, 68, of Ridge Road, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, October 28, 2012 at her home.
Born May 25, 1944 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Harold G. and Ellen V. (Osborne) Hitchcock.
Sherry was a lifelong resident of the area.
Following her graduation from Johnsburg Central School, she married James R. Meade and settled in Garnet Lake where they began raising their two daughters.
Sherry began her working career with Warren County in the Office for the Aging and the Planning Department. She went on to sell real estate with Coldwell Banker in Bolton Landing and also Levitt Realty in Lake George. She also served as the Warrensburg Town Assessor and worked as a data collector for the town of Queensbury where she excelled due to her vast knowledge of the Lake George area before retiring.
She was the Past President of the Assessors Association and a member of the Association of Realtors.
She was a devout Christian and enjoyed attending the Spiritual Life Center in Greenwich with her lifelong dearest friend, Catherine Allison.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and enjoying her best friend, her dog, Maggie.
She is survived by her daughters: Kelly Barker and her husband, Christopher of Johnsburg and Kathleen Bennett and her companion, Stephen Englert who was like a son to her; her siblings: Harold “Sonny” Hitchcock of Albany; Randy Hitchcock and his wife, Charlotte of Salem; Barry Hitchcock and his wife, Amy of Indian Lake; and Donna Fuller and her husband, Charles of San Jose, CA; two aunts: Agnes Straight of Bakers Mills and Anna M. Goodspeed of Fort Edward; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 1pm, Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg with The Rev. David Beaulac officiating.
Friends may call on Sherry’s family one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Bates Cemetery, Johnsburg.
Sherry’s beautiful smile and her love of life will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
