Rose M. Berretta, 88, formerly of Countryside Adult Home, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 1, 2013 at The Pines at Glens Falls following a brief illness.
Born May 31, 1924 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Filomena (Gerando) Landi.
She married John G. Berretta on August 9, 1942 and spent 60 wonderful years together until his passing on December 17, 2002.
For many years, Rose worked as a waitress at several resorts including the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, FL and the Skytop Resort and Lodge in Pocono, PA.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband, John Berretta and second husband, Wade Thorpe; as well as her seven siblings.
She is survived by daughter, Joyce deLagarde of Lake George; her son, John Berretta of Sarasota, FL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her beloved Countryside family, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Rose’s request, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
