Annie Irene Cleveland, 59, of Hudson Street, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 22, 2012 with her loving family by her side following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 21, 1952 in Abingdon, VA, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Edna (Heath) McComsey.
Annie was a loving mother and grandmother, and her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, whether they were hunting, attending garage sales, going to the family camp, or just having a Sunday dinner after church.
She was an active member of the Sodom Community Church in Johnsburg and cherished the time spent with her church family.
Annie had a great affection for animals and would often look after the strays in the area. She also enjoyed owning and operating her second hand shops and cooking for her family friends at her local diner.
Annie truly enjoyed helping those throughout the community, and will forever be remembered for her kind soul and extending a hand to those in need.
Besides her parents she was
predeceased by her brother, Harold McComsey, Jr. and her sisters, Juanita Moffitt and Marie Allen.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Joseph; her sons, Richard Steady and his wife, Jodie of Hudson Falls; Christopher Steady and his wife, Holly of North Creek; Andrew Cleveland and his wife, Tara of Johnsburg; a daughter, Bobbi Jo Denno and her husband, Mike of Johnsburg; brother, Stephens McComsey of Johnsburg; sister, Lilly Decker and her husband, Walter of Greenfield Center; 12 grandchildren, Timmy, Mark, Brandon, and Brieana Planty, Christopher Steady, Jr., Dezore, Khaleah, Yanden, and Andilyn Cleveland, Brooke, Makayla, and Mercedes Denno. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Annie’s family from 2 to 4 pm, Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Sodom Community Church in Johnsburg.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at the church at 4 pm with the Rev. Ronald Allen, Pastor officiating.
Her family and friends will gather at the Sodom Boy Scout Hall for a reception following the services.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Annie’s name to the Sodom Community Church or the ASPCA.
